BaoYiTalk collects nothing

The short version

The app makes no network calls at all. Not for content, not for licence checks, not for telemetry. Put the device in airplane mode and everything still works exactly the same.
No data is collected. No name, no age, no birthday, no email, no device identifier, no usage log.
No account, no sign-in.
No ads, no ad network, no third-party SDKs, no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking. The app has no dependencies.
No links out of the app. A child cannot tap their way to the web, an app store, or a social network.

What is stored on the device

Only your preferences, in the device's ordinary on-device settings storage:

That's the list. Nothing about the child, nothing that identifies anyone, nothing that leaves the device. Deleting the app deletes it.

Speech and the microphone

Spoken words and stories come from your device's built-in speech voices. The text is turned into sound locally by iOS. Nothing is streamed to a server for it.

BaoYiTalk does not use the microphone, and does not ask for microphone permission.

There is no recording feature in the app today, so no recordings exist and iOS will never show you a mic prompt.

About the planned voice-recording feature. Recording a parent's own voice is on the roadmap and is not in the app.

When it does ship, these commitments are set now and in writing:

Recordings will be written only to the app's own storage on your device.
They will never be uploaded, transmitted, backed up to my servers or shared with any third party.
iOS will ask for microphone permission at the moment you first tap record, and never before.
You will be able to delete any recording individually, or all at once.
This policy will be updated in the same release.

Until then, treat every sentence above about the microphone as literal. It isn't used at all.

Children — Apple's Kids Category

BaoYiTalk is made for children aged 1 to 4, which means Apple's Kids Category rules apply and the design was built around them rather than adjusted to fit:

No behavioural advertising, no advertising of any kind. No ad identifier and no App Tracking Transparency prompt, because there is nothing to track across.
No third-party analytics or tracking. No SDK is embedded in the app at all.
No personal information is collected from a child, and there is no field anywhere to type any in.
A parent gate protects the settings: press and hold the gear for a full three seconds. A toddler tap does nothing. Everything a grown-up can change lives behind it.
No external links, no purchases reachable by a child, no social features, no messaging, no user-generated content, no way to contact anyone from inside the app.
A story can't trap a child: the close button is large, always on top and never gated, and auto-advance stops on the last page.

Because nothing is collected and nothing is transmitted, there is no personal data of a child to consent to, correct or delete. That holds under COPPA, the GDPR, Malaysia's PDPA and anything comparable.

The parent intro exists so a grown-up sees what the app is before a child ever holds it.

Purchases

If subscriptions are enabled at launch they run through Apple's In-App Purchase, and Apple handles payment entirely. I never see your card details. Apple's own privacy policy covers what Apple collects when you buy something.

No purchase flow is reachable by a child. Anything of that kind sits behind the parent gate.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion, portability and objection requests all have the same answer, and it isn't a dodge: there is no data to act on.

Nothing about you or your child has been collected, so there is no file to send you and nothing on a server to erase.

Deleting the app removes the handful of preferences listed above.

Changes, and how to reach me

If a future version ever makes a network call, collects anything, or adds a third-party SDK, this policy will be updated before that version ships and the app will say so plainly. The date at the top is the version marker.
